Garden Design

With gardening, as with life, knowing what you want is half the battle. But whatever form your particular dream garden takes Gentle Touch will be with you every step of the way to ensure it becomes a reality. After an informal chat to discuss your needs I will go away and ruminate. This may take days – or it may only take a few hours. (Sometimes it can take a little longer if I need to source unusual materials.) Anyway, I’ll be back within a week with some ideas for your plot, a written estimate of costs and possibly a rough sketch. This is all free of charge – though should you require detailed plans then there would, of course, be a charge for this.

Once we reach agreement on design and price then we set a date to start work, pray for fine weather and from there on we’re at your side to the end. Naturally we will sometimes have to employ specialists such as electricians and bricklayers but that doesn’t mean I won’t be there at all times working and worrying alongside them. Experience has shown this to be the only way to deal with those little problems which will inevitably crop up. And more than that, to allow for the flexibility which the evolution of a garden actually demands. For I believe that a garden is a living thing and as such will sometimes suggest little touches to you even after you are half way though a project. At Gentle Touch details matter because gardens do.
